Industrial Training Fund (ITF) officials pay a courtesy visit to Eko City Polytechnic.

Eko City Polytechnic recently received officials of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) on a courtesy visit, following the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE)’s approval for the institution to commence the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES).

The visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration between Eko City Polytechnic and the ITF and ensuring that the institution is fully aligned with NBTE guidelines and national standards for effective SIWES implementation.

During the visit, the ITF representatives held discussions with the management of the Polytechnic on key areas, including student placement, supervision procedures, documentation, and compliance with SIWES operational requirements. The discussions also emphasised the importance of providing students with quality industrial exposure that will enhance their practical skills and employability.

The management of Eko City Polytechnic expressed appreciation to NBTE and ITF for the approval and continuous support, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to running a standard, transparent, and student-centred SIWES programme. They also assured the visiting team of adequate structures, academic staff, and partnerships with industries to ensure the success of the scheme.

The visit marks a significant milestone for Eko City Polytechnic, as the SIWES programme will provide students with hands-on experience, bridge the gap between theory and practice, and prepare them for the realities of the workplace.

The institution looks forward to a productive partnership with ITF in delivering a successful SIWES programme that meets national educational and professional standards.
